I was on TV Patrol

13 12 2008

hahaha… that was fun…

ayt… just days after Homeless World Cup finished.. & Team Philippines got back home.. my friend informed me that someone saw me on TV.. i think her friend saw it on the day when Team Philippines arrived.. which is dec. 9…

today… some of my friends actually told me that they saw me on tv.. yes.. on TV Patrol specifically.. hahaha…

it was actually ABS-CBN Australia who did the coverage.. & it was Gigi Grande who was involved with it..

they showed the part where we were walking down corner of Collin St & Swanston St… i think.. haha.. & the interview with Ricky Elequio & Rondolf (RonRon) Longgakit.. Jay-R De Jesus was mentioned.. but they didn’t show the part where he was actually interviewed..

anyways… yeah i was actually there.. from the parade… til the part where i was actually playing with the ball with the other TLO, michelle… i had my back turned against the camera.. hahaha…

i was also there when they showed the part where we were singing Lupang Hinirang.. hehehe…

nyaaaaaaaahhhhhh… i wanna see it again… hehehe…

i miss those guys…

can someone sponsor me to go back home..?? hahaha…

They were enjoying Pacquiao’s win.. I was enjoying a different win..

10 12 2008

the Philippine Team to the Homeless World Cup & Manny Pacquiao both won their games on the same day…

hours earlier before Pacquiao won against de la Hoya.. Team Philippines had just won a game against Namibia for 5th place in the Community Cup & 37th overall.. they won 5-3.. then hours later Pacquiao won.. via TKO…

Team Philippines’ win against Namibia was something more important to me than Pacquiao’s win…

i guess it’s because of the underdog tag that Team Philippines had just as the underdog tag that Pacquiao had…

when Team Philippines won.. i was so pumped.. i was enjoying it.. celebrating with the team & supporters & the people who were involved with the Philippine Team..

with the Pacquiao win.. i just stayed quiet.. hehe… his fight wasn’t really exciting to me.. the fight didn’t have any thrill.. Pacquiao dominated the whole fight..

i think the only thrill of the fight was.. Pacquiao fighting a bigger guy..???

being there at the game & watching the game are two different things.. you’ve got different feelings for each..

i was with Team Philippines in every game they had.. so it means a lot to me than Pacquiao’s win…

i’m not saying that i’m not proud of what Pacquiao had just achieved.. but being right there in front of all the action is totally different..

cheering the team & being in the field with the team is different than just watching their games on tvs..

sorry to all Pacquiao fanatics.. hope you do understand.. hehe… but Team Philippines last game.. which they won against Namibia is just truly special to me…

you’ll all find out how i felt if you actually watch sports live.. & being part of the team.. cheering them on.. & hanging around with them for a week…

The week of my life

9 12 2008

yesterday officially ended the week of my life…

it was the week of my life because it was very special to me.. seeing filipino street children compete in an international competition made me proud…

the very first day i met them.. they were all quiet & shy.. but as days progresses i got to know them.. & i was able to gel in quickly with the guys…

i was there all throughout the whole games they had.. i was there singing Lupang Hinirang on the first & last matches they played..

i was also there cheering on for the guys on the field.. even if it wasn’t my shift yet.. i would go with them to the field & cheer them on..

my co-TLO, michelle, would also be there & cheer on.. even if it’s not her shift yet too..

these guys means a lot to me now.. they all have a place in my heart..

being a TLO for Team Philippines was at first a very scary thought.. i didn’t know what to do.. i hope i did a very wonderful job.. & so as michelle..

yesterday, was officially the last day of homeless world cup 2008.. TLOs weren’t advised to show up.. but if they did want to.. they can..

i surely did went there yesterday & spent time for the last time with the whole team.. except for coach marlon maro.. he had an earlier flight to canberra..

i was teary eyed when they were about to leave.. even my JD, one of the supporters, started crying.. it was all his fault why i was teary eyed.. hehe..

i am proud of Team Philippines for doing such a wonderful job.. and for showing that we filipinos could compete too..

their first game against india is also memorable.. they gained the respect of other teams.. that this guys can’t be just taken down.. that they have to defend well against Team Philippines..

actually all of their games are memorable..

hope to see the whole team again when i get back home to philippines..

milan is next… hopefully they could replicate what the very first team of players for philippines did.. or even much better.. i know that it will be a very difficult task for the second batch of players for milan.. but i wish them good luck..
